Pastors & Staff

New City believes that the biblical model for pastoral leadership is that of a plurality, which is a group of men who lead together in order to know, lead, feed, and protect the body. Additionally, because of the growing needs of the body and the desire for leadership development, we have several support staff as well.

Will Klotz

PASTOR OF PREACHING & TEACHING

Will has called Manassas home since his middle school years and now lives just outside the city with his wife Chelsea and 4 kids: Caleb, Emilee, Anna, and Ava. Prior to planting New City, Will worked in the energy industry while he completed his Masters of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. Will is deeply passionate about God’s word and seeing its transformative power in peoples lives. If Will is away from the church, he is probably smoking meat on his big green egg, running around outside with the kids, or reading an old book.

Joseph Cooper

PASTOR OF CARE

Joe has called the Manassas area his home for 44 years, where he had the blessing of meeting his wife, Etta, and raising his four kids. He is passionate about teaching, preaching and caring for the saints. He can often be found growing flowers or fishing, playing horse shoes or corn-hole, and probably wouldn’t tell you when his birthday is.

Brian Gurney

PASTOR OF WORSHIP & LEADERSHIP

Brian grew up in Manassas, graduated from James Madison, and has served in ministry in the city ever since. He and his wife, Chelsea, live in Old Town Manassas with their kids Leeland and Ellie and are expecting their third soon. Brian is passionate about sharing the gospel, building leaders, and fostering creativity. When he has free time, he’s either on the floor wrestling kids, hiking with his dog, or trying out a new restaurant in the city.

Dayna Kalajainen

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Dayna and her husband Mark were both born and raised in Manassas, and currently live in Old Town Manassas. Dayna has a passion for service, loving others well, and leadership. In her free time you can find her spending time with close friends or playing games/sports with those she loves.

Samantha Gambale

DIRECTOR OF KIDS MINISTRY

Sam landed back home in Manassas after an excursion to the frozen tundra of Minneapolis to earn her degree in Writing from North Central University. She and her husband, Bronson, have five kids, Braelyn, Luca, Micah, Liliana, and Shiloh. Sam is passionate about creating engaging and fun learning environments that consistently point to Jesus. If she’s not homeschooling her kids, cooking, cleaning, or working...she’s probably hiding under the blankets with a reading light, a good book, and a mug of cookie dough ice cream.

Advisory Board

Since New City Fellowship is a new church, we have found wisdom in developing an outside advisory board made up of local pastors that can remain in place until we are able to raise up more elders. This board offers accountability and insight until New City Fellowship is able to raise up more elders.
