Elders

Chuy Rodriguez

PASTOR OF PREACHING & TEACHING

Born and raised in Mexico City, Chuy moved to the DMV area in 2002 pursuing his now wife of 18 years, Karla, whom he met in College in Mexico. They now live in Manassas with their four kids; Joel, Luciana, Sofia, and Caleb. Chuy is passionate about Jesus and people, he enjoys witnessing how the Gospel brings hope and peace, when it is proclaimed and demonstrated in tangible works. When he’s not preaching, he is spending time with his wife and kids, reading, watching and playing soccer, and coaching his son Joel in baseball.

Lars Hasseler

ELDER

Lars wants to see God glorified and people reconciled to Him. He is privileged to have even the smallest of parts in that. He desires that New City Fellowship would be a lamppost, showing people to God. In his spare time, Lars loves being with his wife Mandi and his kids Hazel and Ash, building his property into a nature reserve, and running.

Andrew Gates

ELDER

Originally from New York, Andrew moved to Manassas with his wife, Rebecca, in 2020. Andrew is excited to serve the church, the community, and ultimately God in the role of elder. In his free time Andrew enjoys restoring old woodworking tools and farm equipment. One day soon, he'll convince his wife to let him restore a vintage Volkswagen beetle for "ministry" purposes.

Staff

Emily Eccker

DIRECTOR OF KIDS MINISTRY

Emily grew up in a military family, moving around the world every few years. After graduating from Emory University, Emily moved to the DMV where she met her husband, Michael. They moved to Manassas together in 2020, and since then, they have been blessed with a daughter, Esme, and two rescue dogs, Lizzie and Petunia. Emily is excited to have the opportunity to share the Gospel with the children of New City Fellowship and their families. In her free time, you can find her watching documentaries, reading, walking in the park, and painting.

Rebecca Gates

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Rebecca moved to Manassas in 2020 and was so grateful to find a home in New City and a church family to really plug into. She joined our staff after attending New City for just over a year and she serves as our administrative assistant. She is now a proud Manassas resident with her husband, Andrew, and children, Eleanor and James. When she's not working you can be sure to find her doing house projects or tending her flower and vegetable garden!

Megan Lunsford

WORSHIP COORDINATOR

Megan is a born and raised Virginian, having grown up just a few miles away from where she now lives with her husband, Louie, and two children, Aiden and Virginia. Megan has always had a passion for worshipping the Lord through music and she is honored to be able to lead NCF in praising our Savior! He is worthy!! Any free time Megan has is typically spent reading, creating something, and/or spending time with her family.

Advisory Board

Since New City Fellowship is a new church, we have found wisdom in developing an outside advisory board made up of local pastors that can remain in place until we are able to raise up more elders. This board offers accountability and insight until New City Fellowship is able to raise up more elders.
